Just wanna get away...

I can't wait for the weekend! This will be my first major trip since the surgery. Amanda and I have been planning for months for this weekend, and suffered many setbacks and disappointments. I sure hope this has been well worth the struggles to achieve this.

Where? Serpent Mounds, near Peterborough. Roughly 2hrs east of Toronto. We were supposed to go from Friday til Monday, but we lost a driver practically last minute. Oh well, c'est la vie, right? The other problem is now we have to scramble to secure a minivan to fit 6 people and gear, as we can't do the two-car thing any more. Either that, or our lone driver will have to seriously consider doing a second trip, which means a double trip to get home. Not fun.

We can't exactly just leave anyone behind either-- we're taking advantage of this event as an outreach opportunity for two of the people who are coming. Lynn's sister and her coworker have decided to come. And there's only one guy, but since he's never gone camping before, he really wants to go for the experience of it.

Oh man, I just remembered that I hadn't looked into the canoe rental yet. I'm gonna have to do some research on that tonight or tomorrow before I go to Amanda's.

There seems to be a lot of things that have yet to be done still. And there's another camping trip on the third weekend of July, so we get to do all of this again. How fun. Anyhoo, off to get all this taken care of, and to start packing.
